Total length of the route: 36 kilometers

The route: Kwidzyn - Górki - Rakowiec - Ośno - Brokowo - Tychnowy - Podzamcze - Mareza - Kwidzyn

Time: 5-6 h (including about 2h for visiting places)

Recommended type of bicycles: trekking or mountain bicycles (MTB/ATB)

Road surface and a difficulty level: Most of the route (about 25 km) runs along the local asphalt roads or bicycle lanes. An easy route

Route marking: none

Route variants: It is possible to lengthen the route up to 50 kilometers between Kwidzyn and Ośno going through Licze, Otoczyn and Krzykosy. Some interesting manors and palaces can be visited there

Route description:

The most convenient point to start your trip is in Kwidzyn next to the impressive Pomesanian Chapter Castle, near the cathedral and the Grand Masters’ Vault. The railway connects the town with Malbork and Grudziądz.

Most of the route runs across the picturesque hills of Iławskie Lakeland, to the east of Kwidzyn. During the trip you cross the Liwa river twice: in Górki when leaving Kwidzyn and in a charming village of Szadowski Młyn where you can admire the Liwa lagoon and a former mill. At present the mill houses the University of the Grand Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Then the route runs along the lower course of the Liwa river, downstream from Kwidzyn, along the Wisła valley. There is little traffic along these roads.

Riding along the road from Kwidzyn to Górki, bicyclists must make some effort going up a long but moderate hill in Kwidzyn (its steepest section is near the castle). Then the route goes across an undulating areas without any considerable height differences.
